About me
Zachary Claerhout is a second-year graduate student in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Utah. He holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Geoscience from the University of Utah, where he worked as an analyst in the Seismograph Station and participated in the Cold Fog Amongst Complex Terrain (CFACT) project. Zac’s research focuses on the emission of dust from the Great Salt Lake (GSL) playa, specifically examining the formation and temporal evolution of natural and artificial surface crusts. He plans to defend his M.S. thesis during the spring of 2025.
